An Albury mum who lost the plot during a fit of road rage has been told she’s lucky a “great big thug” didn’t get out of the car and “bash her”.

An Albury mum faced court after she keyed a man’s car during a road rage incident.

An Albury mum who chased a man down and then keyed his car in a fit of road rage has been told by a magistrate that she’s lucky a “great big thug” didn’t get out of the car and “bash her”.

Greer Fletcher fronted Albury Local Court on Monday, pleading guilty to damaging property during a road rage incident in Thurgoona.

The 28-year-old was driving along Table Top Rd on August 19 when a Holden station wagon overtook her vehicle.
Enraged, Fletcher followed the station wagon to the carpark of the Kinross Hotel where she got into a shouting match with the male driver.

After the driver walked towards the entrance of the hotel, Fletcher went back to her car, got her keys, and scratched the passenger side of the victim’s car, before jumping in her vehicle and driving off.

The victim noticed the damage and jumped back into his car to chase her, but was unable to find her.

He reported the incident to police, who found CCTV footage from the hotel which had recorded the incident.

Fletcher’s defence solicitor told the court the accused suffered from anxiety and PTSD due to domestic violence, and had recently separated from her partner, leaving her in an “emotionally charged state”.

Magistrate Miranda Moody said it was a “really stupid thing” for Fletcher to do.

“You can’t just take people on,” Ms Moody said.

“You could have had some great big thug get out of the car and bash you.

“You’re a solo mum you’ve got responsibilities, you have to be so careful.”

Fletcher was sentenced to 12 months good behaviour, with no conviction recorded.
