From a businessman who “couldn’t help himself” from sexually abusing a teenager to a truckie’s sick child abuse collection, these are Albury-Wodonga’s worst crooks.

From a businessman who “couldn’t help himself” from sexually abusing a teenage boy to a truckie caught with a sick collection of 400,000 child abuse images, these are Albury-Wodonga criminals punished in 2021.
While Crime Statistics Agency data revealed Wodonga’s overall criminal activity mostly decreased in 2021 compared to the previous year, stalking and intimidation increased by 23.7 per cent in Albury.
One Myrtleford man said he was only joking when he told his ex he would kill his ex and rape her mum.
He was sentenced to 18 months jail.
These are some of the criminals to have faced court in 2021.
Nicholas Leigh Dolan
A West Wyalong man went on a seven day crime spree stealing six cars, getting three of them bogged, while losing his pants in the process.
Nicholas Leigh Dolan faced Albury Local Court on February 10, 2021, pleading guilty to 22 offences.
The 33-year-old began his crime spree on August 19 when he stole a car from a Wagga Wagga hotel, and drove to a nearby service station and stole $114 worth of fuel.
After the vehicle ran out of fuel, Dolan abandoned the vehicle and stole two more cars, both of which became bogged.
Dolan entered another property and stole a fourth car which he drove just 500m to another car which he stole.
Another police pursuit began Dolan was spotted at the Leeton McDonalds drive-through, during which Dolan threw his full McDonalds cup at police.
Dolan was sentenced to three years behind bars, with a 20 month non-parole period, back dated to August 27, 2020, when Dolan first entered custody.
Clem Penrith
A Griffith paedophile pleaded guilty in Albury District Court on January 19 to sexually assaulting a 12-year-old and 15-year-old girl.
Clem James Penrith, 45, pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent assault of a person under the age of 16, and using social media to send indecent material to a person under 16.
On the first occasion, the court heard Penrith, a father of four, approached a 15-year-old girl after he’d attended a funeral.
The girl was sitting alone playing on her mobile phone when Penrith walked up to her, stood 30cm away, and exposed himself to her.
The victim managed to push Penrith away and run away, but not before he could tell her: “please don’t tell anyone”.
The second victim, a 12-year-old girl, was visiting Penrith’s home in 2017 when he asked the girl to come over and play with his penis.
When the victim began to cry, he grabbed her arm and dragged her to his bedroom, where he struggled against him and kicked him in the groin.
Penrith pulled her back and pinned her to the bed by her shoulders and rubbed his genitals against hers for over 30 seconds, before she managed to kick Penrith off her and escape the house.
Penrith will be eligible for parole on May 28, 2022.
Bradley Walsh
A Corowa father of two sent pictures of his penis to who he thought was a 13-year-old girl, but turned out to be an undercover cop.
Bradley Walsh, 40, appeared in Albury Court on June 8 2021, pleading guilty to using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material and using a carriage service to transmit indecent communication to a person under 16.
Court documents revealed Walsh used Skype to message who he thought was a 13-year-old girl, sending pictures of his penis and asking for nudes on 10 occasions.
After introducing himself as a 32-year-old Albury man, the girl (undercover police) introduced herself as a 13-years-old.
Court documents showed Walsh stated: “Oh ok. Sorry … I was going to say sex talk but if your (sic) too young then no.”
The girl then replied: “Oh ryt. I’ve neva dun that sort of stuff b4. Am I 2 young?”
Walsh then told the girl: “Depends, on you.”
Over nine more conversations, Walsh asked for pictures of the girl naked, as well as pictures and videos of her masturbating, and described how she should masturbate using the handle of a toothbrush or hairbrush.
Walsh was sentenced to an 18 month Commonwealth Recognizance Release Order, to be of good behaviour, with the condition he continues to see his psychiatrist.
Laurence Hardy
A Yackandandah truckie who was caught with more than 400,000 child abuse materials after joining a paedophile members-only website was jailed.
Laurence Hardy, 51, was sentenced in the County Court on June 23 after pleading guilty to using a carriage service to possess and access child porn.
Hardy was arrested at his Kitco Truck Depot workplace in Sunshine West on May 18 2020.
Investigators found two phones, two laptops and a portable hard drive in Hardy’s truck.
Analysis of Hardy’s devices revealed he had accessed, paid for and downloaded child pornography from online site ‘Website M’, which is a paid access site for child pornography.
Hardy was sentenced to a maximum of five years’ and nine months’ jail, having already served 402 days.
Alan Clinton Williams
A North Albury businessman told the court he “couldn’t help himself” from sexually abusing a teenage boy.
Alan Clinton Williams, 57, was jailed for two years after he pleaded guilty to four counts of intentionally sexually touching a child 16, and grooming a child under 14-years-old for unlawful sexual activity.
Williams, who owns Genesis Home Maintenance, met the young teenager before he started sexually abusing him.
Williams first touched the child’s genitals while they watched a movie together in his North Albury home in 2020 but the abuse continued for eight months.
When the victim was first assaulted he asked Williams to stop.
Williams said: “Sorry I couldn’t help myself, I promise it won’t happen again.”
Three weeks later, Williams grabbed the victim’s genitals outside his pants while watching another movie.
When the victim asked him to stop, Williams said: “Just calm down and relax.”
Williams was arrested and sentenced to 24 months jail with a non-parole period of one year.
Raymond Edward Carr
An Albury paedophile performed sick sexual acts on children as young as four, giving them money and lollies to stay silent.
Raymond Edward Carr, 32, was sentenced to 12 years in jail on June 10, 2021, after he was found guilty of two counts of intercourse with a person under 10, and seven counts of indecent assault of a person under 16.
Albury Court heard Carr sexually abused three children across several years, including a four-year-old girl.
When Carr was 15 he assaulted his first victim when he pulled down a girl’s pants and inserted an object into her vagina.
When the girl begged him to stop and started to cry, Carr gave her a lolly and asked her not to tell anyone.
When the victim was eight, Carr, then 19, touched inside the girl’s underpants while she was asleep and raped her.
He will be eligible for parole on December 5, 2028.
Myrtleford man threatens to kill ex, rape mum
A Myrtleford man said he was only joking when he told his ex he would kill his ex and rape her mum.
The 39-year-old, who cannot be named, pleaded guilty on June 18, 2021, to stalking and intimidating to intend fear or physical harm and contravene an apprehended violence order.
The man called up his ex on July 31, 2020, telling her: “You’re going down c***, I’m going to kill you with my f***ing penis.”
“I’m going to put it right through your ear and go out through the other end and go down your f------ mouth then come out and stick it to your mum’s bum.”
The man then threatened to kill his ex, saying: “... I’m going to bring a crack pipe and stab it in your neck, you c***.”
He was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment with a non-parole period of nine months.
Heath Parkinson
A man acquitted of murder threatened to kill an Albury pub owner after he was caught punching on with a pokie machine.
Heath Kevin Parkinson faced Albury Court on February 8, 2021, where he pleaded guilty to stalking and intimidating with the intent to cause fear or physical harm, and destroying and damaging property.
Eight months earlier, Parkinson was found not guilty of murder, on the grounds of self defence, following the death of Corowa man Christopher Quirk in 2018.
On January 20, 2021, Parkinson visited the Astor Hotel in Albury when he approached bar staff late in the evening to tell them the ATM was broken.
The hotel licensee, who gave the hotel staff access to CCTV footage, came to the venue to find Parkinson punching the pokies machine.
Parkinson was sentenced to an 18 month community corrections order with supervision, and the condition that he undergo an anger management course.
