A Wagga Wagga woman was allegedly robbed at sword-point and bashed with the handle of the weapon in a terrifying ordeal.

A man and two women visited the 27-year-old’s Ashmont home about 11.40pm on Sunday, March 14.

Police believe during the visit, the 39-year-old man threatened the woman with a sword, before demanding cash and a mobile phone.

It’s alleged the woman was hit across the back of her head with the hand grip of the sword, before the trio left the property.

The woman sustained minor injuries and did not need to go to hospital.

A few days later investigators stopped a black Suzuki Swift in Trevor St, Turvey Park, about 11.40am on Wednesday.

A 39-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga police station.

A short time later, police raided a Mount Austin house where a sword and other items were allegedly seized for forensic examination.

The man and woman were both charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and refused bail to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court on Thursday.
