Albury stabbing: Man charged after man and woman stabbed during brawl

A man has been charged after a man and woman were allegedly stabbed in a wild brawl in Albury.

A man has been charged after a man and woman were allegedly stabbed during a wild brawl in Albury.

NSW police said emergency services responded to reports of an alleged brawl involving up to seven people on Creek St about 8.40pm Monday, February 27.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a man and a woman – both aged 37 – for knife wounds. They were taken to Albury Base Hospital where the woman was placed under observation and the man was flown to the Austin Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police said the injuries were not considered life threatening.

Following police inquiries, two men – aged 46 and 58 – were arrested a short time later in the backyard of a home on Creek St.

They men were taken to Albury police station where the 46-year-old man was been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm – serious indictable offence, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear in Albury Local Court on Tuesday.

The older man is helping police with inquiries.
