32-year old woman dies in horror head on car crash near Albury

A mother has died following a horror two-vehicle crash in the state’s south. Here’s what we know about this breaking story.

A mother has died following a freak two-vehicle crash near Albury yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the scene after reports two cars had collided head on at Bungowannah Rd, Jindera, north of Albury.

Police were told a Nissan Dualis and a Toyota Prado collided head-on, trapping the drivers, about 1pm on Saturday (February 25).

The Nissan driver, a 32-year-old mother, died at the scene.

The two passengers, believed to be the woman’s children - aged 12 and three – were freed from the car uninjured.

Police and paramedics attended the scene.

The 21-year-old Toyota driver was freed and flown to Canberra Hospital suffering serious leg injuries.

Two other passengers – a 60-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man – were taken to hospital for treatment.

A crime scene was established with specialist officers from the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit attending the scene.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.
