Police are hunting for two men over a vicious attack in Albury on Wednesday morning.

According to police a man was on Eden St, near the coroner of Noorla Place, when he was approached by two unknown men in a black Holden Cruise about 1am.

After the car stopped at the Brown street intersection, one of the unknown men got out of the vehicle and threatened the 26-year-old victim before chasing him.

“The second unknown male then kicked the man, knocking him to the ground, before the pair stole his wallet and drove off,” a NSW police spokeswoman said.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said the 26-year-old didn’t require hospital treatment.

“He sustained cuts to his hands and feet, which we treated at the scene,” she said.

Murray River Police District are investigating the incident and are still searching for the two men.

They are described as approximately 25 years of age.

“The first man wore a white hooded jumper and a cross-body bag. He has a thin build, bread and short black hair,” police said.

“The second man was wearing a black baseball cap, has a black beard and moustache with a dark complexion.”

NSW police are urging anyone with any information on the incident to contact Albury police or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.
