State of disaster: Melbourne curfew as tough lockdown begins

Stage four restrictions are now in force as a state of disaster is declared across Victoria. Melburnians are banned from leaving home at night and must stay within 5km of their property. The restrictions follow 671 new coronavirus cases and seven deaths, with the Premier declaring he had no choice but to declare a tough six-week shutdown.

Lockdown longer if Victorians fail isolation test: Andrews

An alarming number of Victorians are going out while feeling sick or awaiting COVID-19 test results, with Premier Daniel Andrews warning the lockdown will be extended if people keep failing to isolate. It comes as the state recorded a new daily high for virus cases and another meat processing plant shut down due to a number of cases.
