Aussie influencer Kat Clark has shocked her social media followers with her latest TikTok and Instagram video, where she reveals her jaw-dropping method of washing potatoes. The popular content creator, who boasts an impressive 6.4 million TikTok followers, demonstrated her quirky kitchen hack while making air fryer jacket potatoes.

In the video, Clark stands confidently in front of her washer dryer and declares, “I’m going to show you guys how to make the best stuffed potatoes. First thing is we’re going to wash our potatoes.”

To the astonishment of her followers, she then places four brown potatoes into her LG front loader washing machine and sets it to wash.

As if nothing unusual had occurred, Clark continues to prepare the dish by cutting up bacon and chives, later retrieving the “clean” potatoes from the washing machine to cook and serve them.

The bizarre method quickly sparked a frenzy among her fans, with over a thousand TikTok and Instagram users expressing their horror and disbelief in the comments.

“Kat, everyone is going to think us Aussies do that to wash potatoes,” one user wrote, while another exclaimed, “KAT WHAT?!? IN THE WASHING MACHINE IS KILLING ME TOO.” More comments like “Hold up … first time I’ve ever seen tatties flung into a washing machine” and “I never ever seen anyone in my life wash potatoes in the washing machine” flooded her posts.

Clark later revealed the truth behind her unconventional cooking hack in her Instagram broadcast channel, admitting that the video was a prank designed to troll her followers.

“Guys, I’m pranking everyone in my last TikTok. Can you guys play along with me and pretend you also wash your potatoes like this?” she wrote, urging her fans to join in on the joke.

Many followers enthusiastically played along, leaving comments like “I love potatoes from the washing machine, it gets more fluffy it’s way better” and “I’ve always washed my potatoes like this, it gives me more time to prepare items for dinner.”
