Married At First Sight beats My Kitchen Rules in week one of ratings battle

Channel 7’s decision to move My Kitchen Rules forward half an hour to 7pm hasn’t paid dividends with the cooking show soundly beaten by the Married At First Sight.
The tenth season of My Kitchen Rules launched to 816,000 viewers across the five capital cities last night.

The Married At First Sight figure was up nearly 10 per cent compared to last year’s launch of 914,000.
In stark contrast, My Kitchen Rules crashed more than 30 per cent compare to the 1.182 million that tuned in for last year’s launch.
Seven’s consolation prize was that My Kitchen Rules performed better in regional areas than its rival.
The combined national figure (metro and regional) for My Kitchen Rules was 1.216 million compared to 1.321 million for Married At First Sight.
Seven made the decision to delay the return of Home And Away and put My Kitchen Rules into the 7pm slot to get a jump on Married At First Sight.
Ten’s I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! averaged 676,000 across the five cities and another 268,000 in regional areas for a national figure of 944,000.
Last night’s edition of I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! saw The Bold and the Beautiful star Katherine Kelly Lang enter the jungle.
