THE Footy Show scored first blood against The Front Bar in the shows’ first head-to-head battle of 2018 — but some of that has to be attributed to Married at First Sight.

That was enough to easily beat The Front Bar (130,000), with Andy Maher, Mick Molloy and Sam Pang.
The Footy Show got a boost because it screened straight after the finale of Married at First Sight.
Married at First Sight was not only the number one show of the night — it is the highest rating show of the year so far.
Nine’s reality show averaged 550,000 in Melbourne and a whopping 1.753 million across the five capital cities.
The Footy Show featured Chris Judd and Brendan Fevola on the desk and a special interview with Demons champion Max Gawn.
The team also bid a temporary farewell to Maddern as she gets set to have a baby.
The Front Bar was coming off an average of 248,000 viewers in Melbourne for My Kitchen Rules.
Last week The Footy Show averaged 174,000 viewers.
Next week’s footy show battle will be part of a different landscape. The Footy Show will screen after RBT and The Front Bar will be preceded by multiple episodes of Home and Away.
The shows will bounce around between Wednesday and Thursday until the third week of April, due to some football matches being on Thursday nights.
In April Channel 7 will also be showing the Commonwealth Games.
