Rock band Jet to join forces with MSO for special one-off concert

Beloved Melbourne rock band Jet are teaming up with the MSO to perform a one-night-only concert at one of Melbourne’s most iconic venues.

Live music is making a comeback in NSW

Melbourne rockers and ARIA Hall of Famers, Jet, will team up with the MSO for a one-off hometown show in November.

“It’s a great opportunity to showcase the depth of the band,” singer Nic Cester told the Herald Sun.

“We are a rock band, yes, but there’s a lot of shades to what we’ve done ... which isn’t often spoken about.

“The opportunity to collaborate with somebody from a different sphere is exciting.”

Jet’s megahit catalogue includes Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Look What You’ve Done, Rollover DJ, Cold Hard Bitch, and Get Me Outta Here.

Their debut album, Get Born, released in 2003, sold 6.5 million copies worldwide.

The band has started conversations with conductor Nicholas Buc about orchestral arrangements of their songs.

“It’s really interesting handing over your catalogue to someone else to reimagine it,” bassist Mark Wilson said. “It’s exciting, We’ve been playing the songs a certain way for so long.”

Jet and the MSO will perform at the Myer Music Bowl on November 8.
