Australian actor Rebel Wilson has revealed the meaning behind her newborn daughter’s name, Royce Lillian Elizabeth Wilson.

Rebel Wilson has revealed the meaning behind her newborn daughter’s name after she welcomed her child via a surrogate.

The Australian actress revealed on Tuesday that she had welcomed little Royce Lillian Elizabeth Wilson.

Speaking to People, the Pitch perfect star, 42, said she wanted a first name beginning with R because her name starts with that letter, as does her partner’s Ramona Agruma.

“I wanted an original name starting with the letter R and so eventually landed on that one,” she said.

The Australian star also explained her middle names, sharing: “Lillian and Elizabeth are both family names carried by women in my family who I admire. Elizabeth, which is also my middle name, after the late Queen [Elizabeth].”

When announcing her daughter’s birth earlier this week, the Australian actor said she was overcome with joy.

“I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle! I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), this has been years in the making … but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care,” she said.

“Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift. The BEST gift!!

“I am ready to give little Roycie all the love imaginable. I am learning quickly … much respect to all the Mums out there! Proud to be in your club.”

Wilson first made her romantic relationship with fashion and jewellery designer Ramona Agruma public in June 9, also posting on Instagram a picture of the two as a couple.

“I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince … but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess … #loveislove,” posted Wilson at the time.

Engagement rumours were sparked last month when the actor shared a loved-up Instagram post alongside her girlfriend, wearing what appeared to be a diamond ring.
