The private relationship that has Melbourne’s social set talking

He’s the Collingwood president and she’s the city’s social queen — just don’t ask them about their very private relationship.

Pies president Jeffrey Browne has been linked to Melbourne’s unofficial mayor, Crown’s Ann Peacock.

Collingwood prez Jeffrey Browne was a special guest of Crown at Sony’s star-studded River4Ward fundraiser on Thursday.

Having quietly split from Perth rich-lister Rhonda Wyllie more than two years ago, the much-loved man-about-town is firmly back in his Brighton homeland and top Magpie following the departure of his great Collingwood mate Eddie McGuire.

It wouldn’t be Melbourne if tongues weren’t wagging, with Browne linked to Melbourne’s unofficial mayor, Crown’s Ann Peacock.

Just long-time friends we are assured. Browne was a pillar to the Peacock family following the death of patriarch and Liberal powerhouse Andrew Peacock last year.

Browne joined Herald Sun’s Rita Panahi, PR icon Judy Romano and Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Paul Guerra at the event, which raised $480,000 for Sony Foundation’s You Can Stay program which provides accommodation in Melbourne for regional youth cancer patients.

The president of the biggest football club in town and Crown’s queen bee would certainly top Melbourne’s power couple list … Page 13 can only hope.
