Page 13 learnt this hard and fast after being pilloried by “politically correct” prostitutes all week. And apologies if we are not allowed to call them that.

“Lea Nights” took exception to Page 13 implying sex workers needed rescuing, which was putting words in our mouth. “Mistress Blake” thanked goodness she was a “better sex worker than Page 13 is a journalist.”
Different strokes for different folks.
When we went down to Gotham City to get to the bottom of this, a copper asked Page 13 if we worked there.
The sex workers seem to think we considered this beneath us.
Are we to apologise on our hands and knees?
But the most revealing of all was an email from “Indiana Rose”, who objected to Page 13 calling some of their clientele “dirty dear old Johns.”
“Clients come from every area of society. EVERY area”, wrote Indiana Rose. “The stereotypes are getting rather tiresome.
“They are not dirty, desperate, old, ugly. disgusting losers.
“They are likely to be men you know. Your workmate, the man who fixes your car, your partner, your brother, your sister (yes, women are clients too), your father.”
Rose kept grinding away.
“Men with a disability. Men whose partner has died. Men whose wife has dementia.
“Men who have been subjected to so much emotional abuse from a former partner that they can’t even fathom approaching a woman in the real world.
“Before you label them ‘dirty’, ask yourself do you even know what you’re talking about?
“For the record, I do not work for a brothel. I am an independent sex worker.”
