Personal stylist, check! Hairdresser, check! Make-up artist, check! On-hand fake tanner, check!
New Housewife on the block Simone Elliott, 42, is upping the style stakes and then some, with a roving glam squad, which includes a fake tanner on call 24/7.
Such is the life of our Real Housewives of Melbourne stars who take high maintenance to stratospheric heights.
Dubbed Melbourne’s Erika Jayne (a reference to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills vixen currently in legal woes amid a messy divorce with her Erin Brockovich lawyer husband Tom Girardi) Elliott revealed she doesn’t quite spend Erika’s $40,000 a month to keep herself looking that way.
But it sounds darn close.
“I like to present well, it is just my self-expression, I like to be well groomed and well put
together,” Elliott said.
“Without giving too much away, we changed my hair so many times. I have extremely long
hair we cut it into a bob. I have got it mid-length, I have got it curled, I have got it waved, I kept mixing it up throughout the series.
“I had another girl, Kelly, who was always on call for my tanning, let’s be honest we always look thinner with a bit of a tan.”
With legs 11 and frocking up in a custom hot-pink showstopper from homegrown designer Jason Grech’s latest collection, Elliott says she wanted to showcase Australian fashion on the Foxtel reality series, which premieres on Sunday.
“I used the show as an opportunity to really showcase Australian designers like Jason and Effie Kats, to really turn up the glamour a whole new notch this year,” Elliott said.
Grech says he normally shies away from dressing the Housewives (think their diva-plus antics) but loves how Elliott and the new cast have embraced fashion over bitchiness.
Meanwhile, the savvy business woman loves the Erika Jayne comparison, “I’ll take that any day,” although says her recent break-up wasn’t quite so acrimonious.
While not having had a single frame on the small screen yet, Elliott has garnered plenty of fans.
“I am getting the gay vote on social media,” she said. “They all send messages saying, you are the new queen.
“I mean, how could you not love me?”
As Samantha Jones once said in Sex and the City, “First come the gays, then the girls, then the industry.”
Real Housewives of Melbourne premieres on FOX Arena on Sunday at 8:30pm.
