Questions raised on whether Braith Cox will be invited to Brian Cook and Clare Schultze’s big day
Brian Cook and partner Clare Schultze are planning the biggest wedding in G-town for some time – but the awkward question is whether Cook will invite his right-hand man from Geelong.

Could there be a last-minute scratching from Brian Cook’s wedding?
The veteran AFL chief executive probably hasn’t been thinking too much about his coming nuptials in recent days given the embarrassing setback to his new gig at Carlton.
Cook’s decision to employ his right-hand man from Geelong, Braith Cox, at the Blues backfired badly when it was revealed he’d been investigated over his treatment of staff at the Cats.
After announcing Cox was to be Carlton’s new general manager commercial on February 1, Cook was forced to rescind the contract on Wednesday after reports surfaced about serious issues during his tenure at Kardinia Park.
This begs the question whether Cox will make an appearance at the biggest wedding in G-town for some time.
Cook is set to walk down the aisle again with long-time partner Clare Schultze next month.
The pair are keeping it local with the wedding set to take place on the Geelong waterfront at the Wharf Shed restaurant owned by none other than Geelong great Billy Brownless.
And it will be a who’s who of the AFL in attendance given Cook’s long and decorated career which saw him oversee premierships at West Coast and the Cats.
Geelong captain Joel Selwood will be representing the current team while former Victorian premier and Hawthorn president Jeff Kennett is set to be among the VIP guests.
But will Cox still be on the invite list? He might be wishing.
Talking of wishing, Page 13 understands presents, or even a registry isn’t on the invite, but a “wishing well”. Given Cook earns well over $1m a year, the couple wishing for cash has certainly raised some eyebrows.
What can be certain is Cox won’t be attending with his wife, popular singer Angie Hilton, given the pair have quietly separated over the past 12 months.
There has been a lot more going on behind the scenes down at the Cattery, with club officials sweating bullets when the media came prying over the Cox appointment.
Where do we start?
A club figure’s wife taking her job at the club a little too seriously, doing plenty of after-hours time in the commercial department.
And then of course there’s Gary Rohan … but let’s not go there, that’s so 2020. Or is it?
Like Cook with his new beginnings, the broom has quickly swept through Kardinia Park with the new regimen under Steve Hocking refusing to tolerate such behaviour. Just on-field reports from here on in. But where is the fun in that? Meow!
SPEAKING OF WEDDINGS …
It’s not a double, but a triple take!
Spare a thought for Melbourne captain Max Gawn’s wife Jessica and two other wedding guests, including public relations Amy Vadiveloo at the Sorrento nuptials of the year, all rocking up in the same one-shoulder silhouette dress.
The Sonya, floral print gown with peekaboo midriff and high thigh split, retailing at $380, was obviously the on trend look of the night. The trio, mistaken for bridesmaids, took the fashion faux pas in their stride, owning it and posting to the ’Gram. Same Same, Same!
