Collingwood can’t manage to kick a goal on the field, but coach Nathan Buckley is having no trouble scoring in his personal life.

Nathan Buckley has found a “genuine connection” with new girlfriend Alex Pike.

Collingwood just can’t kick a goal this week, whether it’s about their most vocal fan, rumblings over the sudden departure of one director, or the appointment of another.

Whispers of an imminent coup have turned to shouts from the boardroom and through it all the coach is being bollocked for just two wins from nine games.

Collingwood has got a dose of the collywobbles but Page 13 is here to soothe the one-eyed fans fevered brow.

Their coach Nathan Buckley, 48, is not only in a happy place, he is downward dogging and definitely off the market.

Sure the former Magpie champion may have been sliding into the ol’ DMs for a time after quietly separating from his wife of 18 years Tania Buckley last year.

But all that has changed since glamazon cosmetic nurse Alex Pike came into Buck’s life.

While keeping it discreet on social media, although following each other, the happy couple are not hiding their relationship from family and friends. And why should they?

Close friends say the relationship is “effortless”.

An insider said: “They are happy. It’s all good. It’s just very easy and comfortable really. They have a genuine connection.”

Mum-of-three boys, Alex Pike, 42, is credited by their close support network as being “the real deal” and not out for any fame, fortune or headlines.

Nor is she too daunted by the fascination people have with the most talked about coach in the game.

Melbourne, after all, is through and through a footy town.

But outside football, the couple have a shared interest in keeping fit through yoga.

“They are just into normal stuff, yoga, natural health, keeping fit and staying positive,” says a friend.

Pike regularly encourages her followers to have a healthy mindset and to strive toward their personal goals.

Self-titled as “Australia’s favourite cosmetic injector,” the registered nurse has expanded her successful injectable business, Face By Alex Pike – think Botox, fillers and all things skin – from South Yarra to Albury NSW.

Her friends include designer Effie Kats, former MasterChef hopeful and DJ Khanh Ong and Love Island winner Anna McEvoy.

They describe Pike as being a strong character who doesn’t seek the limelight.

“She is not in it for the fame, she is beyond all that,” a very close friend laughed.

“She is not daunted by any of what he brings to the table.

“They are happy.”

It’s something we would like to see break out in the Pies’ boardroom.
