DESIGNER tongues started wagging among Melbourne’s “farshun” set after last weekend’s lavish Florentine wedding of Kennedy founder James Kennedy and Jaimee Belle. And it all had to do with the dress.

NOBODY can keep their mouth stitched for long in Melbourne’s “farshun” set.
Designer tongues started wagging after last weekend’s lavish Florentine wedding of Kennedy founder James Kennedy and Jaimee Belle.
Belle was reportedly to wear a bespoke creation from local haute couture label J’Aton, (thought to be this dress “Baroque Queen”, pictured below).
KENNEDY WEDDING’S FIT FOR A KING
Well-heeled whispers were growing louder that the luxury brand Kennedy was in talks to be brand partners with the J’Aton design house, with a contract drawn up before things went belly up.
But we’ve got ahead of ourselves.
J’Aton boys Jacob Luppino and Anthony Pittorino were feeling the love from the new Kennedy kids on the block.
J’Aton created Jaimee’s look for Oaks Day during the Spring Racing Carnival and the swish Silver Ball charity gala up in Sydney this year.
All was set for Jaimee to walk down the heavily scented aisle (think more than a million dollars worth of flowers created by Kardashian favourite florist Jeff Leatham) in Florence last weekend wearing one of the Melbourne design label’s gowns.
And this is where things get a little fabric-ated (sorry, couldn’t resist) depending which fashion camp you speak to. It’s still up in the florid air whether money was exchanged for the dress, but one thing is for sure — someone got cold feet at the 11th hour and the dress was scrapped as the split between Kennedy and J’Aton became apparent.
The bride opted for Australian-born British designer duo Ralph & Russo, who were in the running to design Meghan Markle’s wedding dress.
The Kennedy couple are currently holidaying in Mykonos.
Snitchy rather than stitchy.
