Cricketer David Warner’s viral Tik Tok videos leads to Bollywood offers

David Warner is a big hitter on both the cricket pitch and Tik Tok, with his dance video clocking 218 million hits and bowling over Bollywood directors — so when will he appear in a film?

David Warner dominates on TikTok

David Warner is Bollywood bound.

The big hitter on the cricket pitch is proving just that on social media platform Tik Tok, scoring more than 218 million views in less than a month.

The 33-year-old batsman’s clips, which also feature wife Candice and their three daughters, Ivy Mae, Indie Rae and baby Isla Rosa, dancing and goofing off while holed up in isolation, have become a viral sensation since Warner joined the video app in April.

Most of the support comes from India. The entire family have become huge stars, dancing to popular Bollywood songs.

Candice Warner says their “silly, fun” home videos have had such an impact that movie offers are coming in faster than a Brett Lee ball.

“David has had a few Bollywood directors approach him for some upcoming roles in films,” Candice told Page 13.

She said a Bollywood career, wasn’t out of the question.

“Sky’s the limit. He is the type. You never know what you are going to get with David,” she said.

The batsman can bust a move, but Candice isn’t telling him that.

“His head is big enough already,” she laughed.

“He loves it, he loves it a little bit too much actually.”

Candice says David is “high energy”, up and raring to go before her three children, all under five. She said the videos are largely David’s idea and show a different side to him off the pitch.

“People only ever see his on field persona and his competitive side. But he is actually like this all the time and now there is a platform to showcase that side,” Candice said.

“People are like we didn’t know your husband was so funny and could take the mickey out of himself.

“Yes, he is competitive and wants to win and gets in the face of the opponent. But that’s just the way he approaches cricket, not the way he approaches life.

“He is actually very funny, very laid back and high energy.”

Nothing is off limits for our Aussie Beckhams. Bowler Mitchell Johnson wrote what everyone was thinking after they posted a Flick the Switch image of the cricketer and former iron woman swapping outfits.

“Bit aggressive in the front area,” Johnson wrote of the alarming, er, moose knuckle.

Warner has also posted a videos of the family dancing to Telugu songs for fans of his Indian Premier League side Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Candice says they look at India as a second home and based in Hyderabad for the Indian Premier League cricket season.

Despite some much publicised setbacks over the years, particularly the sandpapergate scandal in South Africa and Candice’s two miscarriages, the Warners always find something to smile about.

“As a family we always try to see the positive side in things. But we haven’t laughed like this in a long time,” Candice said.

David’s most popular TikTok video has attracted 52.3 million views, and features him dancing with Candice to the song Butta Bomma from movie Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and earning praise from main star Allu Arjun.

Warner might not be the only Aussie cricketer on the Bollywood crease. Pace bowler Brett Lee not only made his Bollywood debut in UnIndian in 2017 but topped the music charts, penning romantic duet You’re The One For Me.
