Comedian Urzila Carlson is tipped to take over from Lindsay Lohan on The Masked Singer.
Lohan ruled herself out from returning to Australia from LA due to COVID restrictions.
Sources say Carlson will join the panel alongside Dannii Minogue, Dave Hughes and Jackie “O” Henderson.
As well as being one of the top-selling stand up comedians on the circuit, the South African born, Auckland-based Carlson has been a hit on her regular appearances on Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention.
Carlson’s global Netflix special Overqualified Loser launches on July 14.
A Network 10 spokesperson said: “We welcome speculation (about Carlson joining The Masked Singer) and the new panellist will be announced soon”.
The Masked Singer is expected to be filmed in Melbourne this year, with its previous home Fox Studio being used for a new Thor movie.
The Voice has forged a blueprint this year for filming with COVID restrictions, using prerecorded audience applause and shots of crowd members watching on Zoom.
However the hit show may struggle to fly interstate mystery singers into Melbourne if filming resumes before lockdown ends.
