Melbourne star Christian Petracca has married his love Bella Beischer in a stunning ceremony at the Royal Botanic Gardens.
Petracca and Beischer, got engaged two years ago in Lake Como and exchanged vows on Friday afternoon.
Petracca, sporting black sunglasses, drove off from the venue in a vintage Mercedes with a beaming Beischer.
She was wearing a beautiful white strapless gown and was clutching white flowers as the newlyweds headed off for further celebrations.
Melbourne players in attendance included captain Max Gawn, Jack Viney, Clayton Oliver, Jake Lever, Christian Salem, Charlie Spargo and former players Angus Brayshaw, Alex Neal-Bullen and James Harmes.
They ended up at city hotspot Bar Bambi with owner Nick Russian posting a picture with the smiling groom and a white rose, saying: “Congratulations great man”.
The wedding ends the year on a high note for Petracca who suffered life threatening injuries after an on-field clash in June.
He has often paid tribute to his “inspirational” partner for her support.
Petracca, who won the Norm Smith Medal in the Demons’ 2021 premiership, also hit the headlines after it emerged he may want a trade.
He has since said he’s committed to returning to the field for the Demons.
When he proposed to Beischer he had planned it for months. Their love story began in 2020.
“Well I had to do it in the motherland, in Lake Como in Italy — one of the most beautiful places on earth,’’ Petracca said.
“I organised it about a couple of months ago. I did it at Villa del Balbianello, which is a famous villa in Italy.
“It was really funny actually. We haven’t dressed up the whole trip and then I told Bella to dress up just for this tour, so I think she sort of knew it was coming to be honest … I think she wanted me to make her dress up for it.”
