Nicole Kidman has appeared on The Project to promote her new series Nine Perfect Strangers.
Chatting to host Carrie Bickmore, Kidman, 54, explained just how in-character she stayed while playing wellness guru Masha.
“My kids would hear me talking in the accent all the time to the point where they didn’t even notice it. Keith was really into Masha so that was good! The actors did not hear my Australian accent until the day we wrapped,” Kidman explained.

“What part of Masha did Keith like so much?” Bickmore asked.
“You’ll have to ask him. I think he liked the vibe!”
Masha is a Russian woman that runs the Tranquillum Wellness House in Liane Moriarty’s novel of Nine Perfect Strangers.
Kidman dons a very long, blonde wig for the show, talking in a Russian accent that we’re certain Urban would have found pretty darn sexy.

Speaking of their relationship, Bickmore congratulated them on celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary recently.
In fact, she brought up the incredibly saucy photo the pair shared for the occasion, showing Urban licking Kidman’s neck.
“Sugar and spice is the key to 15 years,” Kidman admitted to Bickmore.
And while the pair are open about their extreme love for one another, it might come as a surprise that Kidman recently revealed how Urban feels about her on-screen sex scenes.
“My husband is an artist, so he understands all of it, and he also does not get involved,” Kidman, 54, said on a recent episode of E! News’ Daily Pop. “He sees the show at the very end when it’s a show, all edited together, and he’s fresh eyes. He doesn’t read any script, he really doesn’t know what’s going on on the set, he’s got his own career that he’s completely absorbed in.”
The Oscar winner added: “He doesn’t know much about what I’m really doing.”
The pair have been married since 2006 and have daughters Sunday and Faith. Kidman previously opened up to WSJ. Magazine in April 2020 about how she balances work and family life.
“We have a system worked out to keep the family together,” she said.
“When Keith’s not touring, it’s much easier. He’ll be on tour next year, and then I just don’t work as much. Literally – it will become imbalanced, and we will change it,” the Australian star said. “We don’t have the answers, but the one thing we do know is that we will not jeopardise us.”
Nine Perfect Strangers premieres this Friday on Amazon Prime Video.
