The love match between Nick Kyrgios and girlfriend Chiara Passari appears to be intensifying after she declared her love for the Aussie tennis ace.
Recently there was some strange social media activity with Passari posting a cryptic message on her Instagram account condemning “cheaters”.
“Cheaters always want you to be loyal while they’re being unfaithful,’’ she posted.
But clarifying her feelings, the Canberra student wrote on Wednesday: “I have learnt a lot and am also learning a lot about myself since meeting you. There will always be struggles but as long as that magic and those unforgettable experiences are there it’s all worth it. Happy belated Valentine’s. I love you.”
Kyrgios, who was a major drawcard at the Australian Open, also left no doubt about his feelings for the girl who flew in last Friday to be by his side.
In a since deleted post on Valentine’s Day, he wrote: “Happy valentines Chizza, I’m so lucky to have you in my life, it’s been a roller coaster of an 8 months, and I want you to know that I’m incredibly thankful and blessed to have you by my side putting up with me and supporting me.
“I hope that I can make you feel special and give you everything you deserve. I promise that I will always try and be a better person everyday and care and love for you. To many more valentine days and hopefully next time I can win a match if you come watch me play.”
Passari flew into town before Victoria was plunged into a five day lockdown and was courtside during Kyrgios’ epic five-set loss to Dominic Thiem.
She was watching his doubles matches paired with Thanasi Kokkinakis at the weekend.
The Aussie friends bowed out on Sunday after sharing some fun on the court.
Kyrgios tried to plant a kiss on the cheek of Passari but she left her mask on and softly pushed him away with a playful hand.
He said: “My girlfriend flew in to watch me play. I’m extremely lucky.”
After posting about cheaters, Passari made her Instagram account private, but her following has grown by almost half since Kyrgios took to the court.
He was clearly carrying love close to his heart and after two impressive wins made no secret that he was missing his girlfriend who he started dating in July last year.
The 25-year-old called himself an “old soul” and a “nutcase” after his first round victory and then posted about late night Facetime calls to Passari: “Chiara Passari my recovery for the night,’’ he wrote on an image of the pair.
He also wrote he was missing “Chizz” on the TV camera.
He said after his first win: “I’m extremely lucky to even be in my position. I’m healthy, I’ve got great friends, great family, an amazing girlfriend back home — I’m blessed.”
Kyrgios also posted a picture on Sunday night of Passari with a bunch of roses and a bottle of wine, putting to bed any question of the pair’s growing love for each other.
