Hollywood newcomer Nicholas Chavez has been spotted taking in the sights of Melbourne while on a quick break from filming his latest blockbuster project Down Under.
The 25-year-old star, who found global fame with his portrayal of convicted killer Lyle Menendez in hit Netflix series ‘Monsters’, delighted one young fan when he stopped by CBD cafe Little Collins Melbourne.
Taking to TikTok to share her encounter, cafe worker Elena was seen shaking hands with the popular US actor, who is in Australia to film I know What You Did Last Summer, before snapping a quick photo together in front of unsuspecting diners.
“You moved to Melbourne and Nichola Chavez stops by the place where you got a job,” Elena captioned the post which has since gone viral among his fanbase.
Chavez’ girlfriend, actor Victoria Abbot, later took to Instagram to reveal the couple had enjoyed a famed hot air balloon ride in the Yarra Valley – a popular attraction for tourists.
Among the collection of loved-up images showcasing their travels, the pair could be seen petting kangaroos as well as visiting some of the nation’s famed coastlines across Brisbane and Sydney, where production of Chavez’s latest project is based.
The reboot of the 1997 box office hit stars a slew of Hollywood names, including original cast members Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr, as well as Outer bank’s star Madelyn Cline and The Summer I Turned Pretty’s leading lady Lola Tung.
It comes as a US judge on Tuesday delayed a scheduled resentencing hearing for Lyle and Erik Menendez, the brothers sentenced to life in prison for murdering their parents in 1989.
Entertainment executive Jose Menendez and his wife Kitty were gunned down by the siblings, who claimed they were sexually abused by their father, in the TV room of the family’s Beverly Hills mansion.
The Brothers, currently jailed in California, appeared virtually for the court hearing on Tuesday, their first court appearance since their 1996 conviction.
