Melbourne’s very own pop superstar Tones and I is putting her most stylish foot forward as she enters a brand new, high-fashion era following a recent transformation.

The ‘Fly Away’ hitmaker, born Toni Watson, has been flaunting an array of stunning looks to her combined 1.2 million social media followers ahead of her upcoming national tour in August.

It’s a far cry from the oversized neon tracksuits paired with matching sneakers, fluffy hats and funky sunnies which became uniform for the popular Aussie singer-songwriter since shooting to global stardom with her 2019 debut single ‘Dance Monkey.’

Posting to Instagram this week, Tones, who calls the Mornington Peninsula home alongside her footballer husband Jimmy Bedford, again graced diehard fans with several in vogue looks.

“This whole Australian tour is about to sell out!,” the ARIA award winner captioned the post, discussing her self-titled tour set to kick off in Adelaide on August 17.

“My albums done! And it’s all because of YOU!”

Fans were quick to show their love for the homegrown star – the first ever female artist to crack 3 billion streams on Spotify - praising Tones’ recent penchant for mini dresses, power suits, sheer tights and heels.

“So glad you got rid of the cap, sunnies and oversized clothes, you are beautiful and now so stylish,” one user wrote. Another said: “The fashion lately thooooo.”

Fellow Aussie songstress Thelma Plum, known for her smash hit ‘Better In Black’, was among a list of celebs to join in, commenting: “Hot, talented, beautiful, gorg etc etc.”

It comes after the singer spoke candidly in a rare interview about how her appearance has at times been heavily scrutinised throughout her career.

“I was so out of my comfort zone, I looked like I just crawled out of the gutter,” she told the LifeUncut podcast hosts Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne in March.

“I didn’t have an aesthetic or a style, I was a chubby little girl from the street. You just put me up and then you just smash me so far down, like I didn’t have a say in anything.

“With me specifically, people were so offended by how I looked that I started pre-empting what people would think before anything was even out. And I judged myself as harsh as I could so I was really prepared for all that criticism.

“Then it wasn’t a tactic anymore. I started hating myself so badly that anything I did, I just couldn’t see a positive reaction to anything.”
