Dance Monkey hit-maker Tones and I has married her love in a beautiful ceremony in Bali at the weekend.
The four-time ARIA winner from the Mornington Peninsula tied the knot with Jimmy Bedford surrounded by family and friends on an idyllic part of the Indonesian island.
A notoriously private singer/songwriter, Tones and I, real name Toni Watson, posted pictures and videos of the event on her Instagram on Wednesday.
Several of her friends, including AFLW star twins Sarah and Jess Hosking, posted their joy at the occasion on social media.
Tones and I and Bedford, a former bricklayer and footballer, got engaged before Christmas last year and have been together for 20 months. They met at a pub just before the pandemic broke out when Bedford complimented Tones’ beanie.
She revealed that he surprised her with a proposal in their home recording studio.
“I got back from the pub … and (Jimmy) was like, ‘Oh come down to the studio I want to show you something’.
“I thought he’s just like farted into the mic and put reverb on it or something,” she joked on the Kyle and Jackie O show in January.
“So I press play and he’s like … ‘Hey I love you’ and all that stuff we say to each other, and then I turned around … he was laughing because he was so nervous … and at the end, it said, ‘Will you marry me?’ and when I turned around he was on one knee, and on his right knee he had tattooed ‘Will you marry me?’”.
Tones and I held her hen’s party in February with a common theme being pink.
She is a huge basketball fan and is often courtside at NBL matches in Melbourne but she and Bedford have rarely posted pictures together on social media.
“It’s going so well,’’ Tones and I said.
“He’s just the perfect person for me. He was a brickie (bricklayer) and now he’s my stage tech. In the last year-and-a-half, he’s gone to university, studied, got his bachelor’s.
“He comes on tour with me. He lives with us. He plays footy for Frankston Bombers. He’s my best friend. He’s hilarious.”
Last year marked the release of Tones and I’s album, Welcome to the Madhouse, which debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart.
She is touring shortly in the UK and Europe with Macklemore.
Prior to her rise, the singer lived in a van in Byron Bay where she spent her time busking.
She has now been named a young rich-lister reportedly worth $35m.
