Melbourne businesswoman Brodie Ryan has opened up about love, life and her connection with partner, Collingwood legend Nathan Buckley.
Ryan says the couple have shared similar upbringings and inspire each other every day.
“Helping others be the best version of themselves and prioritising their mental health and wellbeing and giving back to others is a passion both Nath and I have always shared and these topics and different initiatives was a big attraction to each in the beginning,’’ Ryan said.
“We had very similar upbringings and share a lot of the same values due to this. I have always been enthusiastic about helping others where I can, and to have a partner that exercises this same passion every day with his family, friends, and the wider community inspires me.”
Ryan, a business manager in women’s health at Epworth, described Buckley as a beautiful person.
“His relationships through football and media has given him a platform to help others through their hardships and provide perspective as a father, a son, a partner, teammate, a friend and a leader,’’ she said.
“With my years of management and business development in private and corporate sectors and his involvement and keynote speaking opportunities around leadership, relationships and mental health and wellbeing, we both enjoy getting home from work and bouncing ideas off each other and aiding each other where we can in our careers and aspirations for future endeavours.
“I am always inspired by my partner and proud of the spaces he works in and will always support him as he does me. He is a beautiful person.”
Ryan is a country girl at heart who spent time working on a farm between Ouyen and Mildura and had changed schools 13 times by age 15.
She moved to Melbourne seven years ago and still gets goosebumps in the city she instantly fell in love with.
In keeping with her values Ryan has offered her support to Melbourne identities Sam Tabone and Melinda Lindy who have rebranded their accessories label to Access Avenue.
In November last year they faced a setback when their online presence was abruptly taken down by Instagram, resulting in the loss of valuable client data.
Ryan offered to aid in their comeback and has posed for glamorous photo shoots as well as speaking with their online platform Melbourne My Style.
“My mother and grandmother were big advocates for giving back to the community and looking after people whenever the opportunity presented,’’ Ryan said.
“Growing up in the country has shaped me in ways I never imagined. Doing this piece with Melbourne My Style, and reflecting back on my journey, has been a strong reminder that no matter where we come from, it’s the love, friendships and opportunities that shape our lives and make it truly extraordinary.”
