Jordan Ablett has unveiled a new forum to help parents with special needs children.

Called the House of Hope, she says it’s a place for all to connect and relate with the daily challenges.

“HOUSE of HOPE is for special needs parents — with the unique daily challenges we face as we raise our little treasures — to connect and relate, to encourage and to be encouraged, to equip and empower,’’ Jordan wrote on social media.

“It is also a place for those WITHOUT special needs children to ask, learn, and better understand those who know special needs well; a safe and respectful space to seek answers and insights to questions you don’t know how to ask, or whether you should ask.”

Jordan and husband, former AFL superstar Gary Ablett, have been documenting their journey with two year-old son Levi who has a rare degenerative illness.

She continued: “Ultimately, and with your help, I’d love to bridge the gap that can unintentionally open between those with special needs children and those without, when we don’t know how to talk or if we should talk.

“We already have had some wonderful and inspiring parents of special needs children who have shown great courage by sharing their story with HOUSE of HOPE. Really looking forward to bringing those to you over the coming weeks plus much more.”

Just a few days ago Ablett posted a picture of Gary cradling Levi at the Royal Children’s Hospital where he has been getting treatment since being diagnosed.

“Just a routine check up,’’ she wrote.

“He’s all good, just wasn’t happy with all the poking and prodding.”

Last month Jordan shared a significant health milestone for Levi, with a heartwarming video showing him standing with the help of dad Gary.

Jordan and others are heard cheering as the happy and smiling toddler completes each movement to get to his feet.

“As you can see, we celebrate the little things pretty hard in this family!” Jordan captioned the video on Instagram.

Recently Gary opened up about the health condition of Levi and said he was a constant blessing to him and Jordan.

In March Jordan spoke of Levi’s condition, revealing in an emotional interview with The Significant Others podcast that the illness comes with a short life expectancy.

“I just remember sitting with Gaz in that meeting and when they said it I just remember absolutely breaking down,’’ Jordan said.

“There is a very short life expectancy, which is why I constantly say to people … we are literally just taking it day by day because we have no idea what the future holds.”
