Melbourne fell in love with Jersey Boys nine years ago and the beat is stronger than ever.
The show broke box office records when it premiered here nine years ago and a whole new generation of fans is expected to appreciate the show when it opens once more at the newly renovated Regent Theatre next March.
The story of a group of blue-collar lads with a tough upbringing who went on to become one of the biggest pop sensations of all time has made Jersey Boys one of the greatest ever musicals.

Star Ryan Gonzalez said this week when the cast was in town that it’s a combination of music and story that sets this show apart.
“It’s very rare to get a show in musical theatre with pop music and it’s also music that we love to perform every night,” he said.
“Everyone thinks of Frankie Valli as an incredible performer and they’re in love with his music and, technically, he was such a great vocalist but they don’t see how troubled and broken he has been as a man.
“The show goes into all of those areas which also sets it apart.”
