Footballer turned radio host Brendan Fevola has revealed he had to pay back almost $26,000 in toll fees and fines after the sheriffs turned up at his front door.
Speaking on his radio show 101.9 The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick on Tuesday, he revealed he had more than 70 outstanding warrants dating back 13 years, that had culminated in the huge debt.
He was threatened with jail time if he did not pay the fees immediately.
Fevola revealed he thought the fines had been wiped when he claimed bankruptcy a decade ago.
“I went bankrupt back in 2011 or 2012, all your stuff gets wiped, so I just assumed I didn’t have any warrants or parking fines,” he explained.
“So Alex (his partner) got her bank card out, tapped it, paid for it … and she was absolutely filthy,” he said.
