Family Feud is making a TV comeback two years after it was axed. And while Grant Denyer will again host the popular program, fans may be surprised at the reason for its return. Here’s why.

Popular television favourite, Family Feud, is returning to our screens.
The show hosted by Grant Denyer was axed by Network 10 in 2018 and will now return for a special prime time TV event, featuring frontline workers.
“The Feud’s back baby!” said Gold Logie winner Denyer.
“I can’t wait to run amok with more nervous and excited Australian families, to have lots of laughs, forget our troubles and have a damn good time giving away record amounts of cash.
“It’s the same great game show, for an even greater cause — celebrating the families and workers on the frontline of COVID-19. Bring it on!”
Network Ten is giving a special family a chance to win up to $100,000.
In a statement the Network said: “While Australia’s favourite game show has enjoyed a rejuvenating “rest”, our frontline workers have spent the last few months showing 2020 who’s boss.
“From July, Network 10 and Fremantle will commence production on a special 10-episode series featuring these very people.
“From devastating bushfires to a global pandemic, Australians have taken a battering, so what better way to show our appreciation to our heroic frontline workers than by asking them: “Name the first thing you would do if you won $100,000?”
Applications are now open. If you are a doctor, nurse, paramedic, firefighter, teacher and more, you can apply.
During its previous four-year run, Family Feud aired nightly at 6pm, until it was “rested” amid disappointing ratings.
