Mystery woman makes appearance at Gary Rohan’s daughter’s first birthday

After shocking fans with news of his marriage breakdown, Cats star Gary Rohan appears to have confirmed his new relationship.

Geelong Cats star Gary Rohan has set tongues wagging after posting a photo of himself with a mystery woman on social media — a picture that would seem to confirm his new relationship.

The happy image appeared on Rohan’s Instagram stories on Saturday as part of a series of snaps that celebrated his daughter Sadie’s first birthday.

And while the daddy-daughter photos were heartfelt and loving, it was a picture of Rohan with the stunning brunette that caught the attention of Cats fans.

The pair is seen smiling delightedly at each other in the charming shot as Rohan holds his two-year-old daughter, Bella, while the woman holds Sadie.

Rohan is understood to be dating Madi Bennett, a physiotherapist who previously briefly worked for the Geelong Cats.

Rohan did not provide a caption to the photo nor did he tag or identify his beaming companion.

Rohan’s relationship has become the subject of much chatter since the sad end of his marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Amie.

He and Amie had gone through indescribable grief when they lost Bella’s twin Willow at birth.

The twins were born on April 12, 2018, but Willow — who suffered from a fatal neural tube defect with no cure known as anencephaly — passed away after just five hours.

The football and wider community rallied around the young parents who bravely shared their heartbreaking loss.

That same community celebrated the safe arrival of Sadie on March 30, 2020.

However, sadly the couple’s marriage did not last and they split a matter of months later.

Late last year, rumours surfaced that Rohan had found a supportive friendship with a physiotherapist.

Last November Amie uploaded a photo of a poem by poet Dhiman to her Instagram.

“This year you have learned to trust yourself. You have seen your strength rising through your most difficult days,” the post read.

“You have been hurt and there were days when you were falling apart but you have held onto yourself, you did not give up on your heart.

“And despite all the hurdles on your path, you have managed to come this far.”

She captioned her post: “Couldn’t have put it better myself.”

The brave mum of three revealed she was plunged into a “deep depression” when her marriage unexpectedly ended.

“I basically probably had the lowest days of my life, I probably fell into a deep depression and I lent on those close to me,” she told the Women of Influence podcast.

“I let out everything I was feeling but I think when you have so much emotional attachment and stories you just don’t ever want to go through it.”

Meanwhile, Rohan also turned to posting motivational quotes in February.

“Eventually you’ll end up where you need to be, with who you’re meant to be with, and doing what you should be doing,” his Instagram affirmation read.
