John Farnham has been pictured enjoying a Christmas lunch with his family, in the first sighting of the Australian singer since he revealed his oral cancer diagnosis in August 2022.
Mr Farnham could be seen sitting at the head of the dining table with his wife Jillian, in a photo posted to his son Rob Farnham’s Instagram account on Monday.
Fans and friends flooded the comments with messages of support and Christmas well wishes for the “You’re the Voice” singer.
“Beautiful! Lovely to see your dad at the head of the table. Merry Christmas,” said one user.
“Great to see your dad. All the best to your whole family,” said another.
In August this year, the 74-year-old declared he was cancer-free, one year after undergoing a 12-hour lifesaving surgery to remove a cancerous tumour from his mouth.
Mr Farnham thanked his fans for their support and said he was “the luckiest man I know right now.”
“It’s been a year since my first surgery and to be honest I’ve lost count as to how many other procedures there’s been since then. I’m sure someone’s kept track of them all – let’s just say, there’s been a few.
“But, I’m home now and I’m a very grateful and happy man.
“Today is a special day. And I’m going to mark it by having a pizza – because I can! I can’t wait to see what might be next on the menu. Bring on 2024.”
