Zac Efron plays cricket with Steve Smith

Zac Efron’s Australian adventure continues, with the Hollywood star picking up some cricket tips from cricketing royalty Steve Smith.

Hollywood star Zac Efron continues his education to become an Aussie during his extended stay Down Under.

Efron has now indulged in a sport almost totally unfamiliar to Americans – cricket.

And who better to teach Greatest Showman star how to swing a bat than former Australian test captain and celebrated strokemaker, Steve Smith.

The unlikely pair along with personal trainer Jaden Garft caught up on Friday night for a hit.

“Good fun in the nets smashing a few balls with these guys,” Smith wrote on Instagram before encouraging his guests not to give up their day jobs.

“Not sure they will be getting a call up anytime soon.”

Smith, who won his third Allan Border Medal earlier this month, is regarded as one of the world’s best batsmen so Efron is getting tips from the best.

Now he just needs to spend some time with spin king Shane Warne to learn the fine art of bowling.

Efron has been in Australia since June last year, putting down roots in Byron Bay.

He is dating Vanessa Valladares who he met while she was working at the Byron Bay General Store.

The High School Musical and Baywatch star, 33, put his L.A. home on the market in December and according to a People magazine report now considers Australia home.

“As of now, he has no plans to live permanently in L.A. again,” the source told the magazine.

“He loves Australia and considers it his home.”

Efron has been in South Australia recently filming the movie Gold for the Stan streaming service.

He lived in a luxury motorhome in outback South Australia while filming the drama.
