After a near-death experience from COVID-19 ex-Neighbours star Nicola Charles says now is the time to spill the beans in a new tell-all book.

Former Neighbours star Nicola Charles is poised to reveal secrets from the heyday of the super soap’s set in her racy autobiography.

Titled Soap Star, Charles resolved to tell the truth of her celebrity life after a near-death experience with COVID-19 in March. “I had it for six weeks and the COVID-19 hotline told me to say meaningful goodbyes to my children because I was refusing to go to hospital,” Charles said.

“I even planned my funeral and I suddenly thought, ‘I have not told my story yet’.”

Charles said her Neighbours days as Sarah Beaumont would be a big part of the book, which will be released in March, and would be a thank you to fans.

“I do realise most of them are … quite horny males around my age, but they are very, very loyal,” Charles said.

Ramsay Street may well be rocked by her bold recollections.

“There will be stories about being bullied on set, stories about unusual things that were said, and the efforts of some people to derail my character and my career,” she said.

Charles, who is a vocal Trump supporter and yesterday described him as the best president in modern history as he was banned from Twitter, has quit acting.

“I can’t be an actor anymore because it requires you to be an a---hole,” she said. “I love what it feels like to climb inside the head of another character, but the mechanism around the mechanics of acting — agents, managers, casting directors, keeping your profile up, looking a certain way, never saying anything offensive, not being political, not being able to have an opinion — just does not work for me anymore.”
