The arrival of Kyle Sandilands into the Melbourne breakfast radio market may not happened until March.
ARN, the parent company of KIIS FM, announced on Friday that the Kyle & Jackie O Show would not kick off the radio ratings year in Melbourne, despite the show airing in Sydney.
In November ARN axed its KIIS FM Melbourne breakfast team of Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips to make way for the Kyle and Jackie O Show to be networked from Sydney into Melbourne.
While Friday’s announcement said the show was coming soon, it may not be as soon as some think.
According to insiders, March has been thrown around as the possible start date for the show.
Hardly shy and retiring, the controversial Sandilands is expected to make plenty of noise – and undoubtedly spark some sort of outrage – when he does make his long spoken about arrival into the hotly contested battle for breakfast listeners in Melbourne.
