Tom Calleja and Sarah-Jane Wilson call out Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra as negative

Two Block fan favourites have made it clear which contestants they have “no interest in pursuing a friendship with”.

After weeks of playing nice, The Block’s ‘plain speaking’ stars Tom Calleja and Sarah-Jane Wilson have made it clear who will and who won’t be on their Christmas card list this year.

The couple have really connected with the public. They were being mobbed at Flemington on Derby Day by Block fans wanting selfies and were guests of Lexus in the Birdcage.

Asked if they had sought out their fellow Blockheads, Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra, who were in the next door Penfolds marquee, Wilson was diplomatic.

“I saw Sharon a couple of days ago and it was super chilled. Everything is good. I want everyone to do well,” she said.

“They just did not have the same experience as us, it was as simple as that, they just did not seem to enjoy it (the show) and we did.”

Calleja was a little more direct.

“No one wants to hang around negativity do they?” he said.

“I have no interest in pursuing a friendship with them (after the show).”

His comment earned him a swift and loud kick in the shin from Wilson, but he stood by it.

“My answer is ‘no’, I will not be friends with them,” he said.

“I am not going to go out of my way to pursue a friendship with them,

“I got friends out of the show – Ryan and Rachel, Dylan and Jenny – Sharon and Ankur, I don’t have contact with them, so why would I pursue a friendship with them?”

The Block auctions were held at Gisborne South on Saturday with the results to be seen in the grand final of the show on Sunday night.

The Block has been a big hit for Channel 9 this year with a total TV average audience of 1.516m per episode this season, up 2.8 per cent on last year’s show.
