Where does the stepson of the King of England go on a night out in Melbourne?
For Tom Parker Bowles, his dingy late night (or early morning) drop in joint back in the day when living in Melbourne filming The Hotplate food series, was Chapel Street’s Revolver.
Now in the shadow of 50, Parker Bowles found himself at Electric on Chapel St in South Yarra on Wednesday night.
The haunt of Instagram models and footballers trying not to get caught on social media letting their hair down, was where Parker Bowles and top chef Scott Pickett stopped at after hosting a sensational dinner at Longrain in the CBD for guests including Julie Bishop.
Sources say Parker Bowles wasn’t a wallflower, hitting the dance floor to shake off his jet lag.
The noted food critic, and son of Queen Camilla, made a 72-hour visit to Melbourne to host two events with Pickett.
He is planning to be back in Australia next year.
Melbourne captured Parker Bowles’ heart long ago.
“You fall in love with Sydney the first time you go there, but Melbourne, she doesn’t care if you like it or not,” he said.
“You have to earn Melbourne’s love and it takes a lot longer.
“To put it bluntly Melbourne is the marrying kind, the one you fall in love with for life, Sydney is more the mistress. I love Sydney but Melbourne, you just fall in love with.”
