The grand Block home at Gisborne South renovated by Scott Cam on the ‘tree change’ season of The Block has finally been sold more than a year after first hitting the market.
The home, known as ‘Camalot’, was completed in 2022 as part of The Block and originally listed for sale in October 2023 with an asking price of between $4.1m – $4.3m.
After failing to find a buyer it was readvertised towards the end of 2024 with a new price estimate of $3.8m to $3.9m.
The five bedroom, four bathroom home with open-plan living and dining areas, a central fireplace, a gourmet kitchen featuring a custom Christian Cole reclaimed timber island, a five bay garage and workshop, and an in-ground pool was sold on December 31; New Year’s Eve.
The sale was handled by Kirrily Evans from Evans Realty Group.
“The price is undisclosed at this point in time,” Ms Evans said when contacted on Saturday.
However local chatter in the Gisborne area suggests the property fetched $3.75m.
The property is arguably the most interesting and picturesque of the homes offered as part of The Block’s ‘tree change’ season in 2022 as it was built out from the original cottage on farm that was bought and subdivided by Channel 9 for the show that year.
The historic cottage sits on 10 acres (4.04ha) and was built in 1866.
The renovation, led by Cam, saw the home extended and garden landscaped to create a luxury country retreat less than an hour’s drive from Melbourne.
It was not auctioned during the grand final episode of The Block in 2022 when the five houses renovated by the contestants went under the hammer.
Instead it was held back before officially hitting the market in October 2023.
The Block moves to Daylesford in country Victoria this year with pre-production already underway.
Channel 9 paid $9.4m for former farm land on the outskirts of the tourist town where five house will be built for the show.
Filming is expected to start in early March.
