Robbie Williams returning to Australia for the AACTA awards

Fresh from his made in Melbourne biopic Better Man picking up an Academy Award nomination for Best Visual Effects, adopted Aussie Robbie Williams is heading back Down Under to perform at the Australian Screen industry’s biggest night.
Williams will perform his classic hit, Angels, at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts awards on the Gold Coast on February 7.
Williams brought the Melbourne CBD to a stand still in early January when he performed a free concert at Federation Square.
“I’m incredibly honoured to be attending and performing at the AACTA Awards on the Gold Coast next month,” Williams said.
“The Better Man movie is something I’m extremely proud of. For this movie to be embraced by the AACTA membership, with a record-breaking 16 AACTA Award nominations, is a very special moment for me. I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone down under soon — it’s going to be an unforgettable night.”
Oscar winner Russell Crowe will host the AACTA Awards with presenters including British actor Henry Cavill who starred alongside Crowe in the 2013 Superman film Man of Steel, Guy Pearce, and Dr George Miller.
Other presenters locked in for the occasion are Kitty Flanagan, Aaron Chen, Sophie Monk, Sam Pang, Kate Mulvany, Anne Edmonds, Aisha Dee, Alycia Debnam-Carey, David Wenham, Asher Keddie, Teresa Palmer, Stephen Curry, Lisa McCune, Tom Gleeson, Shane Jacobson, Catherine Martin and, Richard Wilkins, Leah Purcell, and Dr George Miller.
The film Better Man was shot in Melbourne and directed by Melbourne’s Michael Gracey. Gracey co-wrote the script with Simon Gleeson, respected Melbourne-based stage performer, and Oliver Cole.
