Stage and TV star Rob Mills has told of doing “chap-laps” in South Yarra in his Camry wagon with Paris Hilton, and of his intimate encounter with Courtney Act during the heady days of his Australian Idol fame.
Mills has addressed his famous fling with Hilton in 2003, which started at a movie premiere in Sydney and saw them create a media frenzy at the Melbourne Cup days later.
Mills recalled the hook up in his book, Putting On A Show, which was released this week.
“My relationship with Paris was barely that – although you wouldn’t have thought so had you seen some of the media coverage, which kicked off when a keen-eyed paparazzo snapped us together on a balcony of a fancy hotel overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge after we had spent the night together,” he wrote.
“We met at the Opera House at an afterparty for The Matrix Reloaded movie and we fooled around afterwards and saw each other a few times over the next couple of weeks in Sydney and Melbourne.
“I drove her around in my Camry wagon in Melbourne. We did some Chap-laps (driving up and down Chapel Street).”
He even took her to Box Hill to his dad’s partner’s place.
“Otherwise, we hung out in her hotel room, and I happened to be with her when she watched her sex tape for the first time – a tape she made with her former boyfriend that had been sent to her lawyer. Soon enough, Paris went home, and that was that.”
Mills went on to reveal in the book another 2003 celebrity fling, this time with one of Australia’s most loved drag artists.
“While on Idol I met Courtney Act and we had an awesome, drink-fuelled threesome with a woman,” he wrote.
“One night early on in the show, a whole bunch of us went to a gay club in Sydney – a dance party venue.
“Three of us ended up at Courtney’s place: Courtney, me and a woman; I’ll call her Sam.
“And we had a bit of an orgy.
“Courtney and Sam had sex, Sam and I had sex, Courtney and I had sex. There was a lot going on.
“I think that first experience with Courtney planted some seeds of discovery and made me even more curious about who I was and about what I wanted.
“But it did not really change me that much in the short term – although there were subsequent times when, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, I had flings with gay friends and sometimes strangers.”
Mills has gone on to establish himself as one of Australia’s most loved theatre performers and is engaged to TV presenter Georgie Tunny.
