Former Real Housewives of Melbourne star Venus Behbahani claims her lookalike sister gifted her a luxury townhouse after she provided crucial help kickstarting her “fledgling” pop music career.

In documents filed in the Victorian Supreme Court as part of a bitter dispute between Venus, her wannabe pop star sister Rebekah Behbahani and Rebekah’s billionaire fiance, Alex Waislitz, Venus claims she was the sole director of a company set up to promote her sister’s music career.

“(Venus’s) husband (businessman James Clarke) facilitated introductions for (Rebekah) including introducing her to the persons who became her global management team … and artists DJ Khaled, Ne-Yo, Tyga and French Montana,” Venus alleges in a defence to a counterclaim filed by Rebekah and Mr Waislitz.

The dispute centres around the ownership of a luxury unit Canberra Road, Toorak, which Venus claims Rebekah and Mr Waislitz gifted her in a document sealed with a thumb print.

The case appears destined for trial and could lead to the public airing of damning allegations about 65-year-old Mr Waislitz’s at-times rocky relationship with Rebekah, 32.

Since Venus moved in to the Canberra Road unit at the centre of the dispute, Rebekah has released a number of R’n’B singles complete with raunchy lyrics and lavish film clips in the past year under the name Behani.

Her music career has had little commercial success.

Venus claims her sister agreed to assign her rights to the Canberra Road unit in exchange for her half-share in the music promotion business, in a deal initially drafted on the back of an old birthday card.

“(Rebekah) began to draft a written document on a birthday card that had been sent to (Venus’s) son Izak, and (Venus) told (Rebekah) to stop because the document had to be done properly,” Venus alleged in court documents.

Venus alleges the sisters went to Venus’s daughter’s bedroom, drew up a handwritten “deed of gift”, which her sister signed with a thumbprint.

Venus further claims: “Immediately thereafter, (Rebekah) said to (her) ‘now are you not paranoid anymore?”

Venus claims the document detailed “precisely the transaction (Rebekah) wished to implement”.

Venus wants the Supreme Court to declare her the owner of the home.

Mr Waislitz’s company, Thorney Equities, which holds the title for the Canberra Rd unit, has previously filed documents seeking to have Venus and her family forced from the home.

Rebekah has previously claimed she signed the house under duress, during a period in which she and Mr Waislitz briefly separated.
