Adrian Portelli’s big budget adventure continues unabated, with a collectable luxury car set to take to the sky above Melbourne’s CBD.
In what is shaping up as quite a sight, the vehicle is expected to be craned into Portelli’s recently purchased $39m penthouse, more than 200m metres above the street, at the Sapphire by the Gardens tower in East Melbourne on Tuesday.
Portelli, 34, wants the car to be an “art piece” in the property that sits over 57 and 58th level of the tower on Exhibition Street. He plans to use the penthouse, the most expensive penthouse sold in Melbourne, as his weekender.
Details of Portelli’s wealth, derived from his LMCT+ promotions and giveaway business, have become known in recent months after he thrust himself into the spotlight with a flashy appearance on The Block in November.
He dropped $4.25 million on one of the TV show’s properties and then gave it away in a promotion for LMCT+.
The LMCT+ Group is said to turn over $60 million a year and, according to the Financial Review, is on the market. The report says Portelli is looking for someone to turbocharge the business’s offshore expansion.
Meanwhile, the extravagant penthouse on Exhibition Street is not the only property in Melbourne linked to Portelli.
There is an industrial property in Coburg North that was bought by a company connected to the tech entrepreneur for $2.5million.
A modest three bedroom home in Essendon, purchased for $1.7 million, a house in Hillside, bought for $1.2 million, and a $4.4 million property in Strathmore are also linked through companies to Portelli.
Nothing, of course, will compare to his Sapphire penthouse which he plans to fit out with a swimming pool and even a bowling alley.
