Former AFLW trailblazer Moana Hope has broken her silence following the shock news that she has separated from her wife Isabella Carlstrom, saying her children are her focus.

Hope is an ambassador for Cocobella at the Mother’s Day Classic at the Alexandra Gardens in Melbourne next Sunday, a fun run that raises money for breast cancer research.

She will run with her 10-month-old son Ahi in honour of her mother-in-law.

“The Mother’s Day Classic is something I am looking forward to being involved in for many reasons. My mother-in-law, Belle’s mum, she is a survivor of breast cancer and somebody I admire and love very much, so to know I have someone close to me that has been affected, that I can potentially run for, means more than you can possibly imagine,” Hope said.

“I am going to be running and pushing baby Ahi in a pram.

“Through my post-partum I have not been able to do any training so I am looking forward to a bit of a challenge now that I am getting my fitness back.

“I was not allowed to train for 24 weeks. I was down to no exercise at all, just due to recovery.”

With her personal life in the headlines, Hope said family was her priority.

“I am focusing on my kids, that is always what is most important to me, my kids,” she said.

“Any time I get outside of work is dedicated to my kids and that is the most important thing in my life at the moment.”

Hope and Carlstrom have two children, a daughter, Svea, who Carlstrom birthed and a son, Ahi, who Hope carried.

Ahi is keeping Hope on the run.

“He is 10 months, he is beautiful, he is so intrigued with life, and he is Svea’s little best friend. He is obsessed with his sister, which is so cute,” she said.

More than 60,000 people are expected to participate in the Mother’s Day Classic, Australia’s biggest fun run and walk for breast cancer research on Sunday, May 14.

There are 73 locations in major cities, metro areas and regional towns around Australia where people can run for the cause.

Cocobella is a sponsor of Mother’s Day Classic and will be providing Cocobella samples on the day at various locations around the country.
