Megan Gale finds her new home on TV

Megan Gale and fiance Shaun Hampson have their eye on two big property projects in the new year — but her most high-profile gig will be on the small screen.

After a rollercoaster of a year, full of highs and very deep lows, Megan Gale is returning to TV.

Gale, who has long had an interest in real estate, will host Australia’s Best House.

The program will take viewers inside the country’s best residential projects and see one crowned Australia’s Best House.

The seven episode series was filmed this month and will air around February next year.

Gale and her fiance, Shaun Hampson, have a renovation planned for their Melbourne home in 2021 and recently bought the Dollywood homestay property in Daylesford.

“My attraction for hosting Australia’s Best House was a bit of an exploratory project as I’ve had a long held passion for all things real estate, home design and interiors,” Gale said.

“I’ve solely dabbled in the investment side of things with properties over the last 20 plus years in various states around the country, but I’ve always wanted to carve out more time for the renovation and building aspect.

“We were actually meant to renovate in Melbourne this year, but we put it on hold and I can’t wait to pick things up again.

“This show has certainly inspired both Shaun and myself to take the design elements to the next level and now with our recent purchase of Dollywood Daylesford, it has given us some ideas about what we could do with that property as well.

“Some of the houses included in the show are out of this world; it always amazes me with how creative and clever people are with their ideas and their budgets. It is certainly very inspiring to watch.”

Australia’s Best House is produced by Gary Takle’s Eye Candy group.

The Dollywood purchase and the Australia’s Best House project are welcome high points in what has been a challenging year for Gale.

She closed her baby skincare business Mindful Life in September. Her brother, Jason, passed away in Perth in July.
