Melbourne billionaire Adrian Portelli is living the dream with an extraordinary collection of luxury big boys toys.
Portelli, 35, made his fortune through his LMCT+ membership rewards and trade promotions business and he has enjoyed the spoils of his hard work, posting his many and varied extravagant purchases on social media.
Keeping up with Portelli’s ever growing collection of desirable items is exhausting; there are exotic cars, luxury properties, a private jet, a rare yacht and even a dinosaur foot.
Portelli is an avowed car lover so it is unsurprising he takes great satisfaction adding highly coveted vehicles to his garage.
According to his social media the rich lister has among his vast collection a McLaren SLR 722S, a Lamborghini Murciélago SV, a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, a Lamborghini Diablo GTR, a Ferrari Pista, a Lamborghini Urus, a McLaren P1, a McLaren Senna GTR – this vehicle was famously lifted into his 57th floor Melbourne penthouse — a Maybach and, he has announced to his followers, he will be soon adding a Pagani to his fleet.
Portelli has a Koenigsegg Jesko under construction in Sweden and has ordered a V8 Koenigsegg Gemera which he has described as his “family car”.
He bought a Koenigsegg CC850 in 2022.
The tech entrepreneur is regularly touted as having more than 40 vehicles in his fleet.
A recent addition to his stable was a Lamborghini STO Huracan in the same metallic gold colour scheme as his Lamborghini Tecnomar 63 yacht.
The colour choice was intentional so the car and boat would match.
Portelli collected the custom built Lamborghini Tecnomar 63 yacht in Europe earlier this month and took it for a run in the waters of the French Riviera.
Only 63 of the stunning vessels are scheduled to be built making it a true luxury limited edition purchase.
Other owners of Lamborghini Tecnomar 63 yachts include Conor McGregor,
Tony Robbins, American businessman Ajay Thakore, and Australians Simon Beard and Laurence Escalante.
The yacht will be housed in Queensland once it makes its way to Australia.
Moving away from cars and boats, Portelli splashed out and purchased a private jet earlier this year.
The Bombardier Global Express jet was formerly owned by Melbourne advertising legend Harold Mitchell.
Portelli’s AP initials are boldly presented on the plane’s tailfin.
Not so much a toy, but rather a serious trophy purchase, Portelli outlaid a staggering $39m for the penthouse in the Sapphire by the Gardens tower on LaTrobe Street in Melbourne’s CBD in April 2023.
He is in the process of fitting it out with reports that he will spend around $6m turning the shell into a home.
Renders show the finished penthouse will be an uber modern, stylish abode with an array of luxury accoutrements.
The “art piece” in the apartment is his $3m McLaren Senna GTR which was craned into the property in May 2023.
Portelli, who describes himself as a property investor, shot to public attention in 2022 when he started buying houses on The Block.
That foray as a buyer on reality TV marked the first time he really sank his teeth into social media.
The attention he attracted after rolling up to the Gisborne South site in a Lamborghini and engaging in a spirited bidding duel with perennial Block house buyer Danny Wallis, was enormous.
That was the moment the nickname “Mr Lambo” was born.
While he did not buy a Block property at the televised auction in 2022, he bought the home built by contestants Sharon and Ankur for $4.25m a couple of weeks later.
In 2023 he was back at The Block and spent a total of $12.4m on three houses in Charming Street, Hampton East.
He purchased Steph and Gian’s home for $5m, Eliza and Liberty’s for $4.3m, and Kyle and Leslie’s for $3.1m.
He has since sold or given away through his LMCT+ promotions the four Block houses.
Portelli reportedly has a number of other houses, including his home base in Melbourne’s northwest and a nearby investment property.
In October 2023 he discovered squatters had moved into the vacant investment property – a modest brick home that he plans to demolish – and then scarpered with a herd of plastic reindeers that were being stored there.
Police were contacted about the peculiar theft.
Perhaps Portelli’s most unusual purchase was the T-Rex (Tyrannosaurus Rex) foot he picked up during his recent European trip.
Responding to incredulous comments from his social media followers, after he revealed his new buy, Portelli explained the foot was real.
“Yes, it is a real authenticated fossil,” he posted.
“Age? Roughly 80 million years old.
“Ticket price? $130,000.
“Current ticket price after it suffered a broken toe …. unknown.”
The foot did lose a toe on the trip back to Australia with Portelli sharing a snap of himself with the ancient digit and a tube of Super Glue.
He provided an update on the dinosaur foot on Thursday, showing it being used as a drink holder in his office.
It was shown in a video holding a can of Flipside Energy, the energy drink Portelli owns with his mate Troy Candy (aka Troy Williams).
Another investment Portelli made this year was to pay $2.5m for the heritage number plate 20.
The number plate was bought as a gift for his young son.
