Jennifer Hawkins has described the birth of her daughter Frankie “as the most magical moment of my life”.
Hawkins has opened up about suffering a miscarriage, her fears she may never be a mother and the profound change Frankie has had on her thoughts about her body in the May issue of marie claire magazine, on sale from Thursday.
Hawkins said five-month-old Frankie was “definitely my greatest achievement”. “There were moments in the year prior when I honestly thought deep down that I might not be able to have a baby,” she told marie claire.
“When she came out, I was just so overwhelmed; I was crying, it was incredible.”
Hawkins said a miscarriage two years ago was devastating but she found a “strength within”.
Hawkins said motherhood had made her stop worrying about what other people thought.
“I have so much more respect for my body, instead of worrying about it aesthetically,” she said.
“I’m really content and I don’t mind what people say because I’m happy within myself.”
