Melbourne ‘it’ girl Olivia Molly Rogers has love on her mind.
Rogers, a former Miss Universe Australia titleholder, is considering becoming a wedding celebrant.
“I recently attended my best friend’s wedding in Majorca and I was their unofficial celebrant, which was really fun,” she said.
“I actually am thinking about it (becoming a celebrant) because I love love. It might be my next career move.”
Celebrity wedding celebrants is very much a growth area at the moment with well known names including Tottie Goldsmith, Greg Evans, Real Housewives of Melbourne’s Gina Liano, former Channel 10 weather presenter Mike Larkan, drag artist Della Katessen and Gogglebox favourite Matt Dalton regularly conducting marriage ceremonies.
A celebrity celebrant can add an extra sense of excitement to a wedding day.
More than 80 per cent of wedding ceremonies in Australia are now performed by civil celebrants, up from about 50 per cent in 2001.
As of December 2023 there were more than 10,200 Commonwealth registered marriage celebrants in Australia.
