Bec Judd reigns supreme as the goddess of Melbourne’s fashion set sparkling at The Winter Ball as a snow queen.
Wearing a stunning gown by J’Aton Couture and an elaborate but delicately embellished headpiece by Bonnie Evelyn Millinery Judd, accompanied by her husband Chris, was the belle of the up-market fundraising ball.
“I gave them the brief snow queen and they just did what they always do, they worked magic,” Judd said.
The Winter Ball supports The Two Sisters Foundation which was established by Ellie Rogers and Lisa Bardas and raises funds for research into breast and ovarian cancer.
The Ball has twice previously been held at Mt Buller but this year brought the glamour and good will to the Malvern Town Hall on Saturday evening.
Among the 300 guests were Vicky Zaparas in a beaded Alin Le’Kal gown topped with a regal feathered cape.
Stylist and shoe designer Lana Wilkinson looked Hollywood ready in a shimmering and sheer number be Paolo Sebastian.
“There is not a gown here tonight that would look out of place on the red carpet at Cannes, everyone has fully committed to the theme,” Wilkinson said.
Jane Scandizzo looked glamorous in a Jason Grech snow white gown while former Miss Universe Daria Varlamova made a dramatic entrance in an icy-hued Alin Le’Kal creation.
Other guests included Suzy Eskander, Dean and Tanya Cherny, Lucy Folk, Nadia Bartel and Peter Dugmore, Jessie and Val Roberts, Abbey Holmes, Tom and Elyse Elliott, Rachel Holland and Kylie Gulliver.
Among a night of highlights, the crowd was entertained by an ice queen burlesque performer who seductively disrobed before swallowing a sword on stage.
The dress theme for the night was snow queens and black tie.
The elegant Malvern Town Hall was transformed into a winter wonderland for the occasion.
Guests were taken on a full sensory tour of the winter wonderland with catering, creative direction and staffing supplied by Cookes Food.
The portico at the venue at one stage resembled a mini Met Gala with expensive black transit vans arriving to drop off cargo of sequin and silver clad guests and dapper men in sophisticated black tie.
The Winter Ball is fast becoming one of Melbourne’s must attend social and fundraising events.
