In a shock move, James Brayshaw and Billy Brownless have been handballed out of their afternoon timeslot at Triple M.
Brayshaw and Brownless, who for more than a decade have hosted the mid-afternoon show Rush Hour — branded “when sport meets stupid” — are on the move.
The pair will relocate their show next year to the 6pm-7pm timeslot at the station, dropping into the slipstream of Mick Molloy and Jane Kennedy’s Kennedy Molloy drive show.
The reshuffle sees Triple M seemingly creating a two-show approach to the crucial drive shift; Kennedy Molloy filling the early drive audience and Brayshaw and Brownless tapping into the later drive listeners.
“It’s great news that Triple M is bringing Rush Hour back for 2020; they’re obviously excited about the radio gold that I provide, along with that hack Brayshaw,” former Geelong champion Brownless said.
Triple M Melbourne content director Dan Bradley said: ‘We’re rapt JB and Billy are coming back for another year. They’re part of the fabric of Triple M and our listeners love them, as do we.”
Interestingly, the Rush Hour team produced some of its strongest content this year and Brigitte Duclos was an excellent addition as a regular guest.
Brownless and Brayshaw will kick off their evening Rush Hour on Triple M at 6pm on February 24.
